Why Pakistan is so good at T20

Pakistan has long been recognised as one of the best countries in the world when it comes to cricket. However, success has not always come easily, with the team’s field play often letting the side down.

The good news is that we have seen Pakistan take some massive steps forward in T20 cricket in recent times. So much so that cricket betting is really soaring in the country. There is even cricket betting with Bitcoin and Ethereum now in Pakistan, as we see online bookmakers explore further ways of satisfying consumer demand.

With that in mind, we decided to explore this further by discovering why Pakistan are so good at T20 cricket:

Their field game is getting a lot better

There is only one place to begin, and this is by addressing Pakistan’s field game. For many years, this was part of their game that was ridiculed. Memes have been shared of simple catches being dropped. However, times are changing here.

While they may not be the best field team, they have made huge advancements in this area. This is something that was first noticed during the T20 World Cup in 2011. They have clearly recognised this was something they needed to address.

A true leader in Skipper Babar Azam

Next, every great cricket team needs to have a great leader, and Pakistan definitely has that. Babar Azam has long been considered an excellent batsman, and he has proven to be an outstanding leader too.

He is one of the world’s greatest, being the only batter to score more than 2,000 international runs in a calendar year. Plus, he has played really well alongside Mohammad Rizwan over the past few years.

Once-in-a-generation bowlers keep cropping up

Last but not least, we do not know how they do it, but Pakistan has a very good habit of producing at least one phenomenal bowler every generation.

At the moment, the man with this label is Shaheen Shah Afridi. The good news is that he is only in his early twenties, so we have plenty more years of his talent to come, which bodes well for the Pakistan T20 team.

If you do not know much about Afridi, his debut for the Pakistan national team came back at the end of 2018. In the following season, he won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for Cricketer of the Year.

The Pakistani T20 cricket team is in good hands

All in all, there is no denying that the future is looking very bright for the Pakistani T20 cricket team.

Fans in this proud cricketing nation certainly have a lot to look forward to in coming years. Addressing the team’s field issues was always going to be critical in this. However, it certainly helps when you have superstars like Babar Azam in your team.

What do you predict for the Pakistan cricket team in the near future?
