Combiflam Tablets: Effective Relief for Fever, Pain, and Inflammation

Combiflam Tablet is a painkiller that contains a combination of ibuprofen (400 mg) and paracetamol (325 mg). It reduces mild to moderate pain, including headaches, body aches, dental pain, menstrual discomfort, and backaches. Additionally, it can effectively reduce fever associated with infections or inflammatory conditions. Combiflam Tablets are also beneficial in easing joint pains caused by arthritis. However, it’s important to note that this tablet is safe for short-term use only, and prolonged usage should be avoided, especially if you have liver and kidney impairment.

When should you take Combiflam Tablet?

Combiflam Tablets can be taken to reduce pain in the following conditions:

  • Dysmenorrhoea: It helps alleviate menstrual cramps and discomfort.
  • Headache, including migraine: It relieves mild to moderate headaches, including migraine episodes.
  • Post-operative pain: This tablet can also reduce pain after surgical procedures.
  • Dental pain: This tablet also provides relief from toothaches and dental discomfort.
  • Musculoskeletal and joint disorders: It also helps manage pain associated with conditions like arthritis.
  • Peri-articular disorders: This tablet also reduces pain in the tissues surrounding joints.
  • Soft tissue disorders (sprains and strains): Eases pain and inflammation in soft tissues due to injuries.
  • Fever: Reduces fever associated with infections or inflammatory conditions.

These uses make the Combiflam Tablet a versatile medicine for managing painful conditions and fevers. However, it’s essential to use it under medical guidance if you have any health condition and adhere to recommended dosages to avoid potential side effects.

How Does Combiflam Tablet Work?

Combiflam Tablet contains two active ingredients: ibuprofen and paracetamol. Ibuprofen belongs to a class of medications called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which work by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in the body. Prostaglandins are substances that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, ibuprofen helps alleviate pain and reduce inflammation.

Paracetamol, on the other hand, works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the brain that signal pain and fever. It is thought to exert its effects mainly on the central nervous system.

Ibuprofen and paracetamol provide effective pain relief and reduce fever by targeting different pathways in the body. This combination of medications makes Combiflam Tablet effective in managing various types of pain and fever.

Are there any side effects associated with Combiflam Tablet?

Common side effects of Combiflam Tablet may include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Constipation
  • Indigestion
  • Dizziness
  • Heartburn

To reduce the risk of side effects, it’s advised to take Combiflam Tablet with food. This can help reduce stomach discomfort. If you experience dizziness, avoid sudden movements and take precautions when changing positions from sitting or lying down to prevent dizziness.

How many Combiflam Tablets should be taken per day?

Adults can take up to 3 tablets daily, with a gap of 6 hours between each dose. The maximum number of tablets per day should not exceed 6. Children aged 12 years and above can take 1 Combiflam Tablet. The recommended dosage might vary with the health conditions. Follow your doctor’s prescribed dosage for maximum relief.

Can  Combiflam Tablets be taken during breastfeeding and pregnancy?

Combiflam Tablet contains ibuprofen and paracetamol. While paracetamol is generally considered safe during pregnancy when used at recommended doses, ibuprofen is not recommended, especially in the third trimester, as it may pose a risk to the unborn baby. Hence, using this tablet to alleviate pain during pregnancy is not advised.

Ibuprofen and its metabolites can pass into breast milk in low concentrations. However, no harmful effects to infants have been reported so far. Therefore, for short-term treatment with the recommended dose for pain and fever, discontinuing breastfeeding would generally not be necessary. Still, its recommended to consult your doctor if you have any concerns.

Can Combiflam Tablets be given to children for pain?

Combiflam Tablet should not be used in adolescents weighing less than 40 kg and children under 12 years due to their high concentration of ibuprofen and paracetamol. If adolescents require this medication for more than three days or if their symptoms worsen, it’s important to consult a doctor for further evaluation and guidance. This precaution is necessary to ensure the safe and appropriate use of Combiflam and to avoid potential risks or adverse effects, especially in younger children.

Which medicines can react with Combiflam Tablet?

Painkillers, including Combiflam, can be easily procured from online medicine delivery. However, if you are taking other medications with this painkiller tablet, informing your doctor is crucial. Avoid combining this tablet with immunosuppressive medicines like methotrexate, antihypertensives, antiarrhythmics like digoxin, diuretics, anticoagulants like warfarin, and other NSAIDs like aspirin. These combinations may affect the safety and efficacy of this tablet and increase the risk of side effects.

Who should not take Combiflam Tablet?

Caution is advised when taking Combiflam Tablet in following conditions due to potential risks and complications:
