KGF Chapter 2 is a Kannada-language period action film that is a sequel to the 2018 film KGF Chapter 1. It is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty. The film was released on 14 April 2022 in Kannada and other languages. It is the most expensive Kannada film ever made and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

KGF Chapter 2 Plot

The plot of KGF Chapter 2 is as follows:

After detailing the events in KGF Chapter 1, Anand Ingalagi suffers a stroke and his son, Vijayendra Ingalagi takes over to narrate the rest of the story. Rocky has become the king of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) after killing Garuda. He decides to distribute the gold among the people and fulfill his mother’s dream of ending poverty. However, he faces many enemies who want to take over KGF or destroy him. The main antagonist is Adheera, Garuda’s uncle and Suryavardhan’s brother, who had given up his claim to KGF in exchange for ruling the Mumbai underworld. He is a ruthless warlord who is eager to avenge his nephew’s death and claim KGF for himself. Another enemy is Ramika Sen, the Prime Minister of India, who had ordered Rocky’s assassination in the previous film. She is determined to capture Rocky and end his illegal activities. She also has a personal vendetta against him as he had killed her father, who was a corrupt politician involved in KGF. Rocky also faces betrayal from some of his allies, such as Andrews, who works for the Dubai-based don Inayat Khalil, and Kamal, who is Ramika Sen’s mole in KGF. Rocky also has to deal with his own inner demons and his love for Reena, Garuda’s former fiancée.

The film depicts Rocky’s rise and fall as he battles his enemies and fulfills his destiny. It also reveals some secrets about his past and his connection to KGF.

Awards Won By KGF Chapter 2

According to The Hans India, KGF Chapter 2 won three awards at the 4th Chandanavana Film Critics Academy Awards on 6 March 2023. The awards are:

• Best Cinematography for Bhuvan Gowda
• Best Editing for Ujwal Kulkarni
• Best VFX for Udaya Ravi Hegde

The film was also nominated for Best Film, Best Actor (Yash), Best Director (Prashanth Neel) and Best Music (Ravi Basrur) but did not win in those categories.
